A PASSION FOR CREATING.
« BIC is honored to celebrate this anniversary with Aigle. We share the same heritage of French craftsmanship, through everyday products that have become iconic worldwide. »
BIC
At the tip of the boot, like at the point of a ballpoint pen, BIC and Aigle speak to free spirits whose imagination knows no bounds. Like a blank page, the boot is a new territory for expression, looking beyond the horizon.
THE PERSPECTIVE OF EXPERTISE.
« By partnering with Aigle to celebrate its 170+1 years, the Château de Versailles illustrates its commitment to promoting French heritage and craftsmanship by combining tradition and innovation, artistry and innovation.”
Château de Versailles
The Château de Versailles and Aigle highlight the masterpiece of the French formal garden under the protection of the god Apollo, an allegory of the Sun King. Like it was painted with gold leaf, the boot reflects the richness of heritage.
A LEGACY OF PIONEERING SPIRIT
« It’s the meeting of two creative French Houses with strong heritage and unique expertise, blending timelessness with modernity. Lacoste brought its textile expertise, adding a pop touch to the essential boot. »
Lacoste
Lacoste and Aigle take on the challenge of technicality by combining natural rubber and upcycled woven patches. As a collector’s item, the boot in the colors of the most famous crocodile plays with vintage and contemporary customization.
ART AND MATERIAL.
« It’s the structure so intrinsic to this model that I sought to highlight: the colored pieces, outlined in white, give the silhouette a graphic look. »
India Mahdavi
Architect-designer India Mahdavi and Aigle translate the hidden side of craftsmanship into colors. The iconic white stripes reveal the natural rubber pieces, hand-assembled by Master Bootmakers.
FIGURES OF STYLE.
« Son of a farmer, I’ve always seen my family wearing Aigle boots in khaki. My fisherman neighbors wore blue. And we still wear them every day! »
BIC
Loïc Prigent , the most Breton of fashion editors, and Aigle are never short of ideas for combining good taste and design. Impervious to everything but freedom.
HAND IN HAND.
« ‘Hand in hands, boots on boots, and always singing in the rain.’ It’s a joy to collaborate with Aigle, whose boots I’ve worn since childhood, jumping over puddles or splashing right into them. »
Lou Doillon
The multidisciplinary artist Lou Doillon and Aigle highlight the craftsmanship of the master bootmakers of Ingrandes. Their illustrated gestures blend with the unique mouse gray color, evoking the rain.
FREE AS AIR.
« I like playing with shapes and manipulating the perception and function of objects, whether classic or not. I also love zoomorphism and the idea of creating an unusual menagerie through different projects. »
Jean Jullien
Jean Jullien, a fan of zoomorphism, and Aigle transport us into an unusual universe where bird-boots turn every step into a vibrant adventure.
STYLE AND FUNCTION.
« Mixing function and elegance, nature and urban. Paying tribute to the manual work of Aigle’s French manufacturing. Applying our Études monogram with a stencil on the iconic Aigle boot. Creating a product to make it an object, an image. »
Études Studio
The artistic directors of Études Studio and Aigle return to the very essence of the boot as a working tool. By signing it with a stencil design reminiscent of industrial markings, the graphic boot creates the unexpected in nature and on the street.
Know how
« Each pair of boots is made in Ingrandes, at the last remaining production site for natural rubber boots in France.
Undergoing rigorous waterproof testing, they will keep you dry, whether you’re in the rain or jumping in a puddle. In line with our commitments to sustainable and responsible fashion, these boots respect both the wearers and the makers: they are certified Origine France Garantie. »
Aigle celebrates its double-stripe boot with 8 surprise guests
This year, Aigle marks its 170(+1) anniversary by blending heritage and innovation with the help of Sarah Andelman, co-founder of the former concept store Colette. And since the best parties are those organized with +1s who know how to have fun, the French curator has chosen 8 surprise guests known for their creative audacity and French flair.
Among them are journalist Loïc Prigent, artist Jean Jullien, singer Lou Doillon, designer India Mahdavi, and brands like Lacoste, Bic, Études Studio, and the Château de Versailles.
For this unmissable celebration, these exceptional +1s have each reinterpreted the iconic double-stripe boot made in France from natural rubber, with only 171 pairs produced for each collaboration.
To celebrate its 170(+1) years, Aigle chose the exquisite setting of the Palais Galliera in Paris on June 16th. During this event, organized by Sarah Andelman, the 200 guests—including actor François Civil and influencer Léna Mahfouf—had the opportunity to discover the eight reinterpretations of the signature double-stripe boot.
Aigle, master rubber craftsman since 1853, continues to hand make its boots perpetuating a unique know-how in the protection of man in nature. In coherence with this heritage, boots, shoes and clothing also combine authenticity, style and function. High standards and attention to detail are at the heart of the design of all collections to guarantee a durable and essential product.
