Having become a “société à mission” (mission-driven company) in 2020, Aigle's ambition is to grow and develop in an ethical manner by placing societal and environmental responsibility at the core of its strategy.
Our raison d'être: enable everyone to live experiences to the full without leaving any trace other than their footsteps.
Being a mission-driven company in compliance with France’s PACTE law requires us to achieve clear societal and environmental objectives, which are incorporated into our articles of association. A mission committee oversees our decisions and publishes an annual report about our commitments.
The social and environmental objectives we have set ourselves are set out in our Aigle For Tomorrow CSR programme.
Every season, we go to considerable effort to develop items that are ethically manufactured and have a limited impact on the environment.

At Aigle, a product is Aigle For Tomorrow if it meets one of the following two criteria:
In 2023, the proportion of all Aigle products that were For Tomorrow products reached 48% (47% for the spring/summer season and 49% for the autumn/winter season).
Certified as Origine France Garantie since 2016, our iconic boots are partly made by hand from natural rubber produced from latex from hevea rubber trees.
We are proud to be keeping this hand-made manufacturing process alive thanks to the 265 people involved in making the boots – 78 of whom are master bootmakers – at France’s last remaining boot factory at Ingrandes-sur-Vienne.
Down with waste! Most of the non-vulcanised rubber offcuts are not wasted but instead used for various other parts of the boot.
In order to promote good practice in both ethical and human rights terms among our suppliers, we have developed a Code of Conduct applicable to all our partners.
This Code of Conduct is in line with the principles of the Global Compact, to which we are signed up. The Global Compact is a United Nations initiative designed to promote principles relating to human rights, labour laws, the environment and combating corruption.
In 2023, 84% of our tier 1 suppliers signed our Code of Conduct.
In order to ensure the social compliance of the factories in which our products are manufactured, we have introduced a social audit policy for our tier 1 suppliers which is based on the standards of the Initiative for Compliance and Sustainability (ICS), of which we are members. ICS assesses and audits the working conditions in our factories and supports the factories in their efforts to improve and progress.
Traceability of our supply chain and transparency with respect to our customers are key defining aspects of our Aigle for Tomorrow strategy.
In compliance with France’s AGEC law, we indicate the three countries where our manufacturing operations take place on all our main product information pages on our website.
For the 2023 autumn/winter season, 135 clothing and accessories products were equipped with a special traceability QR code with this same information.
Through its creations, Aigle invites people to reconnect with nature. In order to conserve nature, we must be up to the task of meeting the environmental challenges involved, especially climate change.
Our carbon footprint for 2022
of our carbon footprint comes from the manufacture of our products
of the electricity consumed by the Ingrandes site comes from solar panels
We regularly calculate our carbon footprint in order to track and reduce our greenhouse gas emissions.
Our ambitious decarbonisation plan extending until 2030 complies with the Paris Agreement:
These targets were officially validated in 2023 by the SBTi (Science Based Targets initiative), an international body that validates the alignment of companies’ greenhouse gas reduction targets with the scientific recommendations established by the Paris Agreement.
Three concrete actions:
These graphics show the change in our CO2 emissions (tCO2eq) between 2019 and 2022:
carbon emissions on scopes 1 & 2 (in absolute value)
carbon emissions on scope 3 (per product purchased)
We sort 100% of our waste at our Paris headquarters and ensure further use is made of it. At our Ingrandes industrial site, our aim is to find ways of using not only the waste from production such as rubber offcuts, but all types of waste, including dangerous waste and normal everyday kinds of waste.
Because nature is our playing field, Aigle financially supports bodies and organisations dedicated to protecting biodiversity.
Notably, we supported France’s Muséum national d’Histoire naturelle in 2023, which has been dedicated to nature and its relationship to the human race for nearly four centuries and, in particular, works to promote the protection of biodiversity.
In 2024, we became a member and patron of WWF France’s Club Entreprendre pour la Planète, and we also invest in the Nature Impact fund, which is dedicated to supporting conservation, restoration and sustainable management projects for forests in mainland France rich in biodiversity.
Promoting diversity, building teams through training, and encouraging social solidarity via charities and non-profits… Aigle places the human element at the core of its concerns.
Our Index Egalité Homme/Femme score (male/female equality index)
of French staff have received training in CSR subjects
clothing items and boots have been distributed by charities and non-profits
In order to promote equality of opportunity, all our job opportunities are open to individuals with disabilities. In 2023, the proportion of disabled workers among the directly employed workforce was 4.83%.
Aigle has been publishing its male/female equality index since France’s Avenir Professional law was introduced in 2018. In 2023, Aigle achieved a score of 94/100.
Training
We place particular focus on the skills and employability of all our staff. In 2023, 364 employees in France completed at least one training course.
Social solidarity
We support charities and non-profits that work to make a difference on an everyday basis, such as Fringuette, la Croix rouge, Les Restos du cœur and Touraine Madagascar. In 2023, more than 13,000 clothing items and boots were donated to charities and non-profits.
